On Friday I was in Yorkshire for the twice-yearly meeting of the Stylecraft Blogstars, as part of my day job. It’s a great chance for a catch up with some amazingly talented people and we always try to arrange a visit to somewhere interesting. This time we had arranged to see the work of the textiles students at Huddersfield University. The University has a wonderfully modern campus right in the centre of the town.
Liam and Echoe, two second year students, showed us around and we were taken through the knit, weave, print and embroidery departments. So much to take in and inspire us.
I can’t even begin to express how talented these young people are, so I think I will just let the pictures do the talking.

Lots of lovely swatches.
The fascinating carpet tufting machine.
Printing on velvet with puff print.
I’m so disappointed that I missed this. It looks so interesting. And what talent indeed?!
