Just a quick post this week because I am away on the Bodensee, also known as Lake Konstanz, where Germany, Switzerland and Austria meet.
My favourite yarn in all the world is Rowan’s Felted Tweed. Although it’s maybe not the ideal yarn IMHO for solid knitting, it is just perfect for Fair Isle. I think I have knitted with it for more than 15 years and every time I have enjoyed the process.
In recent years, however, I have found the palette a little dull and muddy so haven’t been able to turn to it as often as I would like, but this changes tomorrow. When I interviewed Kaffe Fassett for the Rowan Celebration Collection he told me that he has been working with the brand to introduce some new colours and last week they arrived in my office.
I am delighted to let you know that they are fantastic, gorgeous and amazing. In the magazine is the pattern for one of my favourite of Kaffe’s designs called Stone Circles.
Isn’t it just fab? So I reached for my needles and immediately tried the pattern out in all the new colours.
I think the bottom colour combination is my favourite but I really like the orange as well. I’d better start saving so I can knit this jumper – I can’t wait.
